Losing someone we love is truly one of life's toughest moments, yet within our grief lies a beautiful opportunity to celebrate their life. Funeral flowers can bring a gentle touch of beauty and a sense of comfort, reminding us of the love we shared and the beautiful memories we hold dear.
I understand that choosing a floral tribute can be a deeply personal and emotional decision. To support you in this process, I’ve made a list of the main styles of traditional floral tributes at the bottom of this page.
Though, in the same way as we are all unique, floral tributes don’t have to conform to tradition. If you feel that traditional funeral arrangements don’t truly capture the personality of your loved one, I can design a floral tribute that does. Perhaps they spent a lot of time at an allotment growing fruit and vegetables; I could incorporate their favourites within the arrangement. Maybe they loved riding a motorcycle; I could take their favourite biker boots and fill them with flowers.
I can also create arrangements that can be broken down after the ceremony, leaving a tribute at the crematorium or burial site, and the remaining flowers can be taken to the wake or shared amongst friends and family.
I understand this can all feel overwhelming, so please take your time. When you feel ready, I’m here for you. We can talk about your loved one, and together, we can create a truly unique tribute that reflects and celebrates their life.
How are your funeral flowers eco-friendly?
From April to October, I use my own flowers and foliage as much as possible. I also source blooms from local flower farms in Suffolk and Essex, along with other wonderful growers across the UK. When winter arrives, I mindfully supplement my arrangements with imported flowers, always choosing Fair Trade options whenever I can.
I’m committed to using eco-friendly and biodegradable materials that will naturally compost over time, so you can be comforted knowing that their floral tribute will not harm the environment. They are also suitable for green burials.
I am proud to be an associate member of The Association of Green Funeral Directors. This association aims to promote awareness of environmentally friendly funeral alternatives including floral tributes. You can find out more about the Association of Green Funeral Directors by clicking here.
You can also find me in the Farewell Flowers Directory. The Farewell Flowers Directory is a network of independent florists bringing funeral flowers out of the shadows and into the fresh air creating unique and compostable flowers which reflect a life whilst treading lightly on the planet. A casket spray gently rests on the top of the casket. A full spray (also known as a double-ended spray) creates a beautiful blanket of flowers that can span the entire length of the casket. A casket spray tends to be the main floral tribute from the immediate family.
3ft Spray - from £255
4ft Spray - from £295
5ft Spray - from £345
A casket sheaf is a beautiful hand-tied arrangement that lays flat. It can be placed on the casket or beside it. Casket sheafs can be used as the main floral tribute but are also lovely tributes appropriate for anyone to send. Simply tied with raffia or biodegradable ribbon, they are the most eco-friendly funeral tribute.
